The "Robots in the City" project continued in Bucharest with the organization of a Masterclass on June 10 and 11, 2019, at the Maastricht School of Management.
This conference, accessible to all, was organized by Strate Research and Scientifica. Miruna Amza, founder of Scientifica with Estelle Berger and Isabelle Cossin, researchers at the Research Centre of Strate, design school, but also Olivia Fouty, active student at Strate in Master in Design for Smart Cities, prepared this event in Bucharest.
Other people from different backgrounds : programmers, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, students, teachers and other professionals were present in order to achieve one of the key objectives of the France-Romania Season: to bring together as many people as possible around strong and innovative themes to share experiences, ideas and make this event an opportunity to inspire future generations.
This required the participation of many partners such as Simplon, 39 partners in total, to be able to carry out these conferences.
Many subjects were discussed during this Masterclass such as the ability of people to design, imagine the cities of tomorrow, their ability to design robots that create the human experience.
The theme "Robots in the city" opened many discussions about new technologies, but also about the role of "responsible design" and the ability to design relationships between humans and robots.
Many questions have arisen, such as that of ethics. This Masterclass was an opportunity to anticipate possible scenarios with a particular focus on ethical dilemmas in robotics. Indeed, the question of ethical rules concerning robotics has been raised before the European authorities since 2017 by MEP Mady Delvaux. This proves that the debate launched at this conference was current and made it possible to see what rules need to be put in place to better understand the challenges of living together.
